What is FASTIP?
Six faculties operate in the public University of Durres. One of them is the Faculty of Integrated Studies with Practice (FASTIP).
Why is FASTIP different from others?
In each semester 50% of the time is spent on theoretical preparation at the auditorium and 50% of the time at the companies for practical training. It implements the dual education system that is a success story in Germany. FASTIP is also supported by experts from the German government.
What kind of diploma do the students obtain after completing FASTIP studies?
In FASTIP, undergraduate studies last for 3 years and are closed with a Bachelor’s Degree (180 ECTS credits).
Who teaches at FASTIP?
At FASTIP there are foreign professors from European or American universities who teach. Foreign professors give students the most recent scientific knowledge, which is what many people want, and this is why they attend their studies outside of Albania.
What is the language of work at FASTIP?
The lessons are mainly in English. Some modules are taught in Albanian.
What is the perspective of FASTIP students?
After graduation, the student is fully prepared for the job market or to continue further Master studies at home or abroad. Currently, all FASTIP graduate students are employed.
How to enroll at FASTIP
What are the procedures to enroll in one of the FASTIP programs?
– Form A2 is completed by selecting FASTIP study programs.
– Winning students are subject to testing by companies.
How to compete in a company?
Testing is an employment test, as FASTIP educates students who also have the employee status.
Is competition the same as in architecture?
Yes. The difference lies in the fact that architecture competitions contain different project assignments, whereas for FASTIP, competition is a test of employment.
In which companies to compete?
You can compete in FASTIP partner companies. So far FASTIP partner companies are: National Commercial Bank (BKT), Raiffeisen Bank, Credins Bank, Teleperformanca, Vodafone.
If any of the family members is the owner of a company, is it allowed to compete (get hired) in it?
Yes, but the scope of the company’s activity should be the same as the study program (branch) that the high school graduate selects.
If partner companies of FASTIP do not declare the winner, is there any other way to enroll at FASTIP?
Yes. The high school graduate must find in his city, or further, a company that agrees to hire him or support his studies.
Company and Student Liabilities
What are the company’s liabilities?
Activate and train the student in various work processes in the company.
Does the company have other liabilities?
Yes. The company has financial obligations as foreseen in the contract of cooperation with FASTIP. At present, the obligations are 95,000 Lek per year for each student in SME and HT Management programs and 1,200 Euros per year for each student in the Bank Management Program.
What interest does the company have in financing the studies of a high school graduate?
The student will be present in the company 6 months to one year, to be trained and to work. The company wins its contribution, and after graduation it earns a skilled and experienced workforce.
Where are the company’s finances used?
Finances do have only one destination. They are used for teaching technologies and for the guest lecturers’ salaries.
What are the student’s liabilities?
The same liabilities as any other student in Albanian public universities.
